I’m wondering a lot of things right now.

Firstly, do I even want to maintain this blog? Blogging has changed communication as we know it. Has blogging provided the perfect substitute to having human contact? If so, what sort of effect is this having on our social lives? What sort of things are beginning to expect from people socially due to this? Have you wondered, often times, we get to know people on the basis of their blog, however we must realize these thoughts are relatively selective. People only put down what they think their readers need to know. Also, people in reality only disclose a certain part of their character to the people they encounter. However, this differs, because putting on a mask is much easier in the digital world then it will ever be in the material world. Thus, when we make a judgment about a person based upon their blogging, does it actually have any true basis? Sigh, anyway. Well, until I decide otherwise – I’m going to go ahead and blog- even it will be temporarily. If I give this up – maybe I’ll start writhing books. Hah.

Alright- next I’m curious about the concept of the appetite, speicfically regarding food. What kind of object is food? What kind of engagement with the world is eating? Why are we so obsessed with food? Is it not beginning to define us not just biologically, but now also socially, and perhaps even personally? Weather it is battling desire for it or craving it, it is perhaps a very important aspect of self and the society we reside in. Excluding the other temptations in the world, I’m curious can we control notion of appetite for food? Eating ‘right’ according to modern science, rather than our intuition, is perhaps quitedifficult, as it seems for majority of huamns. Is it that the people who can correctly control their appetite- especially for food hold a strong self-control mechanism? How does one obtain it? Or is that – that we already have it but never utilize it? Or is it perhaps, a terrible thing to have so much self-control? I suppose, I am a true supported of absolute self-control.

Perhaps to utilize our self-control mechanism, we much recognize that 'the self' governs itself. Forget the external dilemmas of the world, let’s assume we have no control over those. Let’s speak about the internal issues. We can make judgments and change them- thus if we know that something is ultimately better for us [Of course, this begs to ask how do we know what’s best for us, but we’ll talk about that another day. Let’s just assume we know.] As I was saying- if we know that something is or will prove to be good for us, why in our right minds will we not do it? Perhaps the options we choose have more to offer? Like? Well perhaps they offer more satisfaction faster, even if it proves to be temporary. Perhaps what we really do is – ignore the later consequences. We care about immediate results. A downfall? Perhaps, perhaps not.

However, if one can choose not on the basis of temptation but rather rationality, can one ultiamtely "induce" a desire. Thus, as far as the notion of the appetite is concerned, it is perhaps one of the most trifling problems facing a strong rational. Therefore if I cannot control my miniscule terrible habits with eating, sleeping, socializing— then perhaps it is my rational that is lacking. For if I lack self-control, I lack everything.

Anyway! I feel nostalgic. I really want to go home. Really really want to go home. Well, Sara, almost there- almost
