commercial update
Mood: Disappointed | Date: 01.02.08 | Views: 117 | Comments: 0
So I asked about the commercial which was supposed to be out now. The producer said that now its moved up to March, cuz the clients said so.
I swear this was like THE thing that I was looking forward to and now its moved up 2 months. They have a rough 15 second version but I can't post that online so basically its no use and it will ruin the hype of the actual commercial, which is 40 seconds long. So I guess more waiting for anyone else who was looking forward to it.
Sorry.

Guest speaker

Sooo I recently got invited to attend a sports day event at this school in Thailand called Trinity International School. They asked me to be a guest opening speaker and talk about free running and its implications on fitness and health.
I prepared a speech for it. The event is still far away, 28th nov. This is how it goes.
Hey guys, how are you all doing? And no, please don’t be alarmed, we are not thieves or anything. If you ever see us doing this outside, just don’t call the cops on us.
Soooooo, how many of you heard have of parkour or free running? If you haven’t, that’s fine because that is what we are here to talk to you about. Let me first introduce to you, our group.
Do you guys ever get bored of going to the gym and running on your treadmill but actually not going anywhere? Or tired of the same boring sports everyday or feeling like you don’t belong in a team?
Imagine yourself, you are sitting at home one day and you have a sudden rush of adrenaline or you have just watched a flick of Jackie Chan or Tony Ja and you want to do some of the things they do. If you feel this way, Free Running is just the thing for you.
You may ask now, so what exactly is this ‘Free Running’? For better understanding, I’m going to explain to you how I got started.
As a kid I always interested in action and stunts. I remember climbing trees, walls and doing crazy stupid jumps. I didn’t know the meaning of fear. I didn’t know what to be scared of except my parents. Anyways, but as I grew up, I realized I started getting more scared of things and not just that, all those trees and nature was now turned into tall buildings. I felt caged. I wanted to break free from the technology. I realized I spent far too much time watching TV or playing games during my time of relaxation. Then one day, I hear about this cool and amazing thing called free running. I read about it, I researched. Watched a lot of videos and decided I want to do this. I learnt that I didn’t have to be part of the everyday cycle. I could easily break free from all this, and free running was the way for me to do so.
Parkour or free running is an activity with the aim of moving from one point to another as efficiently and quickly as possible, using principally the abilities of the human body. Basically, it’s a connection between your mind and body and most of all, it requires your instincts to cross different types of obstacles. It is a way of becoming free from the confinements that today’s world. True it is sometimes misunderstood by people and they think it’s a good way to become a thief but think of it this way; there is an emergency, someone is in trouble and you need to get to that person as quickly as possible. Free running can be a great asset in order to save his or her life.
I personally feel it’s a much better way to spend my time rather than watching TV or playing vdo games all day and is much more interesting than playing any other sport as well. However, I’m also not saying that you stop everything else, but every now and then, just break free and FREE RUN!
Thank you!
so yea thats it.

my first job...2nd day
Mood: Full of Life | Date: 08.18.07 | Views: 115 | Comments: 0
So let me tell you about my first two days at my first job ever...minus the two internships i've done over the years.
So I'm working at a real-estate development company called [/b]Nichada[/b] and they gave me the position of Programmer, which is not even what I interviewed for...in fact I was quite specific that I don't like programming. Anyways so I spoke to the boss, and he said that they will come up with another position name for me but my job activities will stay the same. I will be basically making 3D models of houses, interiors and working with the civil engineers. I myself am not a civil engineer, I studied telecommunications, but they took me not because of my qualifications but my skills in graphic design and a bit of 3D modeling.
Anyways, so after first two days of work here the facts (bullet point to make easier for everyone to read)
- Work hours : 8 am to 5pm 5 days a week and alternate Saturdays as well
- 15,000 Thai Baht salary (use online currency converter to convert)
- For every minute I am late, they deduct 0.5% of salary for that day...WTF !?!
- First 2 days they got me doing some BS work. Repetitive and menial, but its all rite for now i guess.
- At lunch time, I join coworkers at a canteen and we have to share the food, and the food isn't that great.
- The staff are really friendly though
- The company building is in a middle of the lake, damn beautiful scenery.
I think it is going to be a good experience all in all. =)

Transformers

Car chases, airplanes, robots, hot girls, non-stop action...Those were just some of the great things of this new highly anticipated movie, Transformers.
I don't know about you guys but I absolutely loved it. By far the best movie of the year, which I ended up watching 3 times at the cinema. It surpassed my expectations and did justice to the transformers fans as well as for people who have never seen the cartoons.
Its worth watching at least once.

So last saturday, (13-01-07), we added these two guys from Kasetsart University (KU) in our group (Jib and Pop) and they came to Thammasat U. to train with us. So I thought here is a good chance to teach new comers but as it turned out they were much more fit and agile than us. Both of em could do backflips and frontflips from before and they got the basics of parkour down already. Though they needed a bit more help and guidance of how to do some stuf, they were extremely fast learners, and i mean FAST. What we took maybe weeks to learn, they learnt in 10 minutes. Anyways so practiced some flips and stuff since we found this mattresses around Thammasat, which we really needed...and its funny cuz we have been doing parkour for more than a year and never thought of using these mattresses until now. Anyways, then we came to learn the wall flip, which I tired first and I managed to make the rotation but couldn't land it well. So Jib goes after me and first try, he LANDS it. I'm telling you, they are fuckin fast learners. They are conditioned for this shit. I really wish I was...but its ok, I just gotta go practice again and again to get it. It was alot of fun though.
We have the training video out, and can visit at:

Sooooo! Today I got this interview along with my parkour crew with this writer from one2go magazine. I could have only imagined this day would come. You can't believe how psyched I am at this moment. Could hardly sleep last night and woke up early...well thats partly cuz I had a class today (which btw got cancelled).
Anyways, I'm also kind of nervous bcuz I don't know what kind of questions the guy will ask. Man we are going to be on a magazine!!!! I'll post the page here later when I get it.

life...
Mood: Confused | Date: 09.28.06 | Views: 124 | Comments: 1
Lately, I've been thinking about my existence and why I am here. What am I good at? You see people who are at least good at ONE thing, and I can't seem to find that about me.

If there is a passion of mine its Free Running (Parkour), it is what makes me feel good but even that, I'm starting to feel I suck at it. I realize the more I practice, the MORE I need practice EVEN MORE. It's like I'm getting nowhere. I those videos and the guys are so good, and I know its cuz they practice hard and train like fuck everyday. Thing is I don't have that kind of time, I wish I did but being a desi with desi parents, it's just not possible.
All our parents ever care about is education, getting a job and getting married. Basically, you never have time for yourself if that is the case. You can never get to actually LIVE your life. Why don't our parents ever push us into things like sports? music? martial arts? etc...
Now im 21, almost to the end of my college years, and even though I know that after graduation, I'm going to search for a job, particularly in production and management related to telecommunications since thats my major, I still don't know exactly what I want to do, where I want to do. What I am good at. I feel like there is nothing I'm good/best at.
I don't know why parents and others put so much emphasis on making a FUTURE, when it is not even in our hands but God's. And see thats the hypocritical thing, if our life is in God's hand, then why are we working so hard to make a future that isn't in our hands? You may work your ass off, but not get the deserved results. Why can't I just do what makes me feel good, and I don't mean that I should be allowed to WHATEVER I want of course. We need to set our own morals. I don't say no to education or work, but its not fucking everything!
Maybe life will unravel itself as time passes. Who knows.

Mood: Bored | Date: 08.27.06 | Views: 111 | Comments: 0
so its a sunday night. All my friends have gone back to the states or Australia back to their university. Its boring as hell back in Thailand. I wanna go out play some pool but since its sunday I don't wanna go alone hoping to meet someone interesting.
Oh well tommorrow should be good. Monday, start of the week. Spend some time with my girlfriend, drive back to university and hopefully if my foot injury allows, get back to some free running baby.
I guess life ain't that bad.
Please wait...
